As I write this, our new tenants, Megan and Peter Friskey have been resident in The Three Tuns for a week. It is amazing the work that has been done in 6 months to renovate, refurbish and update the pub . The volunteers have worked incredibly hard: painting, decorating, making good, upholstering, curtain-making, weeding, grass-laying and much, much more. We couldn't have done it without you, a really community effort, thank you.
Here you can see the momentous day when the pub had her name reinstated, and how beautiful she looks! Thank you to Peter Allen for the hours he took to make the sign sparkle again.
The interior has also had a major face-lift and is now ready to welcome customers, together with a brilliant lawn for the wonderful summer ahead.
So, a little more about our new tenants. Peter is an accomplished chef with over 20 years‘ experience, having held various senior positions including at Windsor Castle and most recently at the Sir Douglas Haig in Surrey. Megan has worked as a pub manager for 5 years, and has also worked as a legal secretary for a top 100 law firm. They are working on new menus, settling into their new home and getting the pub ready for customers. For more information about Megan and Peter we made the papers (again!) and the article can be found here.
We look forward to seeing you soon - Megan and Peter are hoping to open the pub in early June. As soon as we know the reopening date we will be publishing it widely, so do come and visit.
